Frequently asked questions
How are crypto futures fees calculated?
Futures fees = Position Size x Fee Rate. Fees are charged on both opening and closing. For a $10,000 position with 0.05% taker fee, you pay $5 to open and $5 to close — $10 total per round trip. Fees are based on full position size, not your margin.
What is the difference between maker and taker fees on futures?
Maker orders add liquidity to the order book (limit orders that don't fill immediately) and pay lower fees. Taker orders remove liquidity (market orders or limits that fill instantly) and pay higher fees. On most exchanges, futures maker fee is 0.02% and taker is 0.05-0.06%.
Which exchange has the lowest futures trading fees?
MEXC offers the lowest base futures fees at 0% maker and 0.02% taker. Binance, BingX, and Gate.io charge 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker. Bybit is 0.02%/0.055%. Bitget and KuCoin are 0.02%/0.06%. With native token discounts, fees can drop further.
Why do small fee differences matter so much in futures trading?
Fees are charged on leveraged position size, not deposit. A $1,000 deposit at 50x leverage controls a $50,000 position. Even 0.05% taker fee = $25 per trade. Make 4 round trips daily = $200 in fees, eating 20% of your $1,000 deposit per day.
